Plywood Stool

It explores how making can become a method of design thinking. Constructed from narrow plywood strips accumulated through previous fabrication, the stool organizes hundreds of individual elements into a repeating hexagonal system. The assembled structure is laminated into a solid 5-inch-thick block and carved into a restrained, minimal form.

Rather than transforming the material itself, the project investigates how new qualities can emerge through its organization. The detailed construction remains visible across the surface, connecting the stool’s visual character directly to the process through which it was made.

The Plywood Stool was exhibited as part of Dock6collective (2026) exhibition in Chicago.
